Our Mission

Our mission is coldbloodedly simple: improve the world by defending freedom, one battle at a time. We tackle the systemic problems that everyone gripes about but nobody fixes. We don’t mind ruffling feathers. If you’ve been looking for a project that actually moves the needle, you just found it.

Our Vision

At the Institute for Advanced Criminal Law Studies, we refuse to be constrained by conventional boundaries. We understand that the art of defending liberty demands perpetual intellectual expansion, so we willingly venture beyond the tried-and-true to explore esoteric disciplines. Whether gleaning lessons from the improvised brilliance of theater, the calm redirection of Aikido, or the intricate psychological underpinnings of interrogation, we aim to seize whatever insight can embolden us in defending the accused.

Each member of our skunkworks selects an avenue of study—sometimes seemingly tangential—and endeavors to master its principles, experiment with its practical applications, and assess its potential for revolutionizing trial practice. We reconvene to share discoveries, cross-pollinate ideas, and refine techniques in real time. This collaborative approach not only hones our collective skill set but also galvanizes our creativity, enabling us to craft unorthodox arguments and narratives that resonate powerfully with jurors.

Our uncompromising focus on liberty mirrors the sense of urgency driving these explorations. While some personal-injury lawyers may pursue such interdisciplinary tactics for profit, we pursue them in service of those whose freedom hangs in the balance. By harnessing the best elements of fields as disparate as hypnosis, Taoism, and sociological research into authoritarian behavior, we continuously arm ourselves with new strategies. In short, we embrace the unusual precisely because we know it can upend the status quo—and that, after all, is the essence of an effective defense: fearlessness, ingenuity, and an unwavering commitment to preserving justice.
